

Ray Edwin Peterson, 82, of Davenport passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Genesis West. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Runge Mortuary on Saturday, August 13, 2016. Visitation will be on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com. Ray was born on the farm where he was raised on December 20, 1933 the son of William and Annie (Wipper) Peterson. He was united in marriage to Betty Joyce Schnabel on August 29, 1975. Ray was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Shaw Electric and was a partner in Schumacher Electric for many years. He was a proud member of American Legion Donahue Post and Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, IL. Ray enjoyed golf, cards, board games, horseshoes and watching the Cubs and Hawkeyes. He enjoyed his winter home that he shared with his wife in Arizona every winter for 15 years. Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife, Betty; sons: Marc (Kimberly) Peterson and Bruce (Joann) Peterson; grandchildren: Geoffrey Cass, Ashlee Peterson, Sarah Peterson, Nicholas Peterson and Gregory Peterson; sister, Mildred Peterson; sister-in-laws, Joannie Peterson, Arlene Decker, and Fran Schnabel; twin brother, Roy (Alice) Peterson and brother-in-law’s, Andy Stutzman, Harold Ford and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie (Wipper) Peterson; siblings, Cecil Peterson, and Emma Jean Stutzman; sister-in-law Mavis Ford and brother-in-laws Gordon Schnabel and Lester Schnabel.
