Richard E. Brown

Richard E. Brown, 74, of Davenport, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport. A celebration of life will be held after the funeral service at the Eagles Lodge, 4401 West Locust Street in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family. Richard was born June 17, 1941 in Davenport; the son of Harry and Ruth (Davis) Brown. He graduated from Davenport High School and went on to work as a janitor for 30 ½ years for the Davenport Public Schools.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Block on September 29, 1962 in Davenport. His memberships included Trinity Lutheran Church along with St. Mark Lutheran Church, Island Boat Club, Northwest Turners and the Eagles Lodge. He served as a Boy Scout leader for several years. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and traveling.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Ruth, Davenport; children: Rick (Kelli) Brown; Rob (Staci) Brown, Barb (Ron) Minch and George Brown; he loved his11 grandchildren, his 6 great grandchildren and his four brothers and four sisters. His parents, granddaughter, Kara and sister, Pam preceded him in death.
