
Memorial services for Richard V. Haines, 87, of Davenport, IA will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church in Bettendorf, IA. Per his request, Mr. Haines' body has been donated to University of Iowa Hospital for medical research and education. Mr. Haines died on Friday, November 13, 2009, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, IA. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.Richard Vail Haines was born in Ottumwa, IA on March 14, 1922, the son of Charles and Lillian (Lottridge) Haines. He married Mildred L. Miller on February 14, 1942, in Lancaster, MO. Mr. Haines served in the United States Army during World War II. Following his military obligations, he worked at John Morrell & Co. in Ottumwa, IA for over 31 years. In 1973, Mr. Haines and his family moved to the Quad Cities where he worked in hardware sales until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Bettendorf, IA.He is survived by his Wife: Mildred Haines of Davenport; a Daughter: Cheryl Rogers of Golden, CO; a Son: Craig (Scherry) Haines of Davenport; 4 Granchildren; 4 Great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.Memorials may be directed to the Building Fund at the First Assembly of God Church in Bettendorf.
