Donahue, IA Memorial services for Richard Joseph Hopkins, 65, of Donahue, will be 4:00 pm Monday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Monday from 2:00 m to service time at the Mortuary. There will be a gathering for family and friends at the American Legion, Dixon, Iowa immediately following the services.Rick passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the VA Medical Center, Iowa City due to complications of a brain tumor.Rick was born on July 3, 1952 in Ottumwa, IA, the son of Harvey and Geraldine (Goode) Hopkins. He married LouAnn Daily in Dixon, IA in 1971, they were later divorced but had remained best of friends. He then married Vicki Frazee in 1987 and were later divorced. He worked, lived and loved Cinnamon Ridge Dairy in Donahue, IA. He had served in the U.S. Army during the 1970’s.Survivors include his daughters; Amy (Tracy) McIntire, Autumn (Troy) Hopkins, Natasha (Erik) Blumenstock, grandchildren: Rebekka, Shianne, Haley, Treyton, Troy, and Taleah, siblings; Mike ( Darcelle) Hopkins, Ed Hopkins, Annette (Pat) Rainsford, George Hopkins, Mary Lynn (Doug) Strohbehn, Paul Hopkins, his abducted brother; Shane (Dee) McCallister, several nieces and nephews; and family in our hearts; Kyle (Casey) Fausey, Lori Needom and John (Joan) Maxwell.Rick is also survived by his beloved Harley that his best friend Tracy has finally won custody of. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians and nurses at the VA Medical Center, Iowa for their care during Rick’s illness.He was preceded in death by his parents.Memorials may be made to the family.
