Richard L. Sexton

Richard Lee Sexton, 80, of Davenport passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday November 5, 2016. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. He was born the third of thirteen children on March 26, 1936 in Davenport the son of John and Anna Margaret (Devlin) Sexton. Richard proudly served in the Army from November 1958 to November 1960, serving in Germany and Texas. He was united in marriage to Joan Munden. She preceded him in death in 1987.

Richard loved fishing, camping, traveling to Colorado and spending time outdoors.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Richard (Dottie) Sexton, Dubuque, Cheri Sexton, Davenport, Sean (Maureen Mondora) Sexton, Des Moines; grandchildren: Mia (Jake) Palen; Michael (Kristina) Sexton; Ricky (Crystal Davis) Sexton, Brittney Sexton, Kylie Miller, Andrew Miller, Alec Miller and Adrian Alread; five great grandchildren; siblings: Dolores “Susie” Loose, Daniel Sexton, Theresa Woodard, E. Jane Richmiller, William Sexton, Kathleen Creer and Timothy Sexton.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings: David Sexton, M. Patricia Schultz, M. Gertrude Miller, J. Michael Sexton and Terrence Sexton.
