Services will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Eldridge, IA, at a later date.
Richard was born the son of Kenneth and Bonnie (Bailey) Swanson in Moline, IL, on December 29, 1945. He was united in marriage to Leila Murray on April 12, 1965 in Peoria, IL. He worked for 50 years in construction. He was also the manager of Country Estates Mobile Home Park for 25 years.
Richard enjoyed working on antique cars and was a longtime member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Those left to honor his memory include his children, Rick Swanson and Julie Swanson; grandchildren, Ariel Niles, Emily Swanson, Charles Keding, and Stacy Keding; and great grandsons, Richard Verne Keding and Julian Keding.
