

Richard M. “Woody” Woodrow, 86, of Muskegon, MI, formerly of East Moline, IL, passed to the next life Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Mercy Hospice House in Muskegon, after a courageous battle with health problems. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8PM Friday, September 24, 2010 at the mortuary with Masonic services at 8:00PM. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family to be distributed over several charities.

He was born October 3, 1923 in Barnhill, IL, the son of Roy and Marian (Meeks) Woodrow. He married Julianna DeBaene who passed away in March of 1956. He later married Ellen (Powers) Wortz on December 12, 1968 in Illinois.
He was a proud World War II Army Veteran, recipient of the Bronze Star and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a 38 year member of UAW #434 Moline, Masonic Doric Lodge, American Legion, and the VFW.
Woody loved to work with mechanical things; he could fix anything and helped many with their cars. He was very devoted to his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ellen; children: Dorinda (Steven) Axne, Peoria, IL; Christine Andon, Moline, IL; and Stephen (Susan) Woodrow, Broken Arrow, OK; step daughters, Judith (Randy) Ball, Spring Lake,MI. and Devon (Joseph) Carter, San Mateo, CA; grandchildren: John, Joseph, Brett, Kyle, Shane, Taylor, Christina, Ashley, Andy, Mya and Lizabella; three great grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Margaret) Woodrow, Barnhill, IL; and sister, Virginia Herbert, Minnetonka, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
