Bob was born on September 11, 1944 in Columbus, Mississippi to parents Helen (Lukowicz) and Raymond Anderson. He obtained a business degree and became a Certified Public Accountant.
Bob married Alice Bjorklund and they had one son, Gregory Anderson.
After serving honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Thailand, Bob continued his education at Morningside College, majoring in accounting. Following graduation, he worked at several CPA firms and with their clients, building a strong foundation in the profession he would serve for decades.
Early in his career, Bob once approached a seasoned CPA firm owner with a technical tax question. The wise mentor simply gestured toward a large tax library and said, “There is your answer.” Bob took this lesson to heart and became exceptionally skilled in tax research—a strength that benefited countless clients and colleagues throughout his career.
A position as a corporate controller brought Bob and his family to the Quad Cities, which would remain his home for the rest of his life. There, he later joined Hammar and Associates as tax manager, a role he held with dedication and professionalism for more than 20 years.
He spent his final years caring for family and passing his experience on to the next generation.
Survivors include his wife; Alice Anderson; son, Gregory Anderson; siblings, Jim Anderson and Sue Hutchinson; nephews, David and Alan Anderson.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held at First Evangelical Free Church, located at 3321 7th St, Moline, IL, on January 12, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 1:00 pm. Bob's final resting place will be at Rock Island National Cemetery.
