Robert L. Cobb, 90, of Eldridge, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Clarissa C Cook Hospice House with his family by his side. Funeral services to honor his memory will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 11:00 am at Faith First Community Church; visitation will be before the service starting at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park following the service. Memorials in Robert’s name may be made to Faith First Community Church or to the Izaak Walton League.
Bob was born on April 15, 1934, in Louisville, Nebraska to Roy and Marvel Cobb. Following high school, Bob joined the United States Navy. He worked at Eagle Signal for 24 years and the Rock Island Arsenal for 11 years before he retired. Bob was united in marriage to Virginia in 1954; they later divorced. He married Margaret in 1968, she preceded him in death in 2004. He later married Twila Smith in 2006; she preceded him in passing in 2019.
Bob was an active member of Faith First Community Church in Davenport, the Izaak Walton League, and the NRA. He enjoyed golfing, traveling with his family, going on cruises, wood working, shooting skeet, and bird watching. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family on “Family Funday” and he was the family “handy-man”.
Those left to honor his memory are his fiancé Pam Edmond; children Debra Cobb, Nancy Williams, Karen (John) Iversen, Michelle Stewart, Sherry Behm, Rick (Marlene) McGill, Laura (Marvin) Drumm, Melinda (Fred) Brown, Tom (Denise) Smith, Terry (Peggy) Smith, Chris (Sharron) Gephart, and Jason (AnnMarie) Gephart; daughter-in-law Sue McGill; sister Dorothy Wiese; and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia, second wife Margaret, third wife Twila, his parents, daughter Carol Jean Cobb, son Skip McGill, son-in-law Dale Williams, daughter-in-law Donna McGill, great-grandson Gage Williams, an infant sister, his two brothers LeRoy Cobb and Donald Cobb; brother-in-law Eldon Wiese, and his beloved Border Collie Pancho.
