Roberta Lynn Layman

Roberta “Bert” Layman, 49, of Walcott, IA passed away on October 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 27, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Bert was born December 20, 1967 to James Layman and Sandra (Leach) Bowman. She worked the majority of her life in office management and accounting. She was a mother of four children, three girls and one boy. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her five grandchildren. Bert was a great collector of Native American figurines and dreamcatchers. She looked forward to having coffee and listening to country music with her sister, Sherri. Those left cherishing her memory include her two daughters, Ashley (Ryan) Parris and Cassandra (Cassy) Sabel; sisters: Sherri Kraklio, Dee Layman and Bernice (Bret) Lobdell; grandchildren: Jordan Trosper-Parris, Britteyn Gatewood, Xaine Parris, Shylee Parris, Airella Gatewood and one granddaughter on the way. In addition to her parents Bert was preceded in death by her step-father, Kenny Bowman, brother, Denny Kraklio, son, Jereamy Davis and daughter, Brittney (Boo) Layman. The family would like to thank Beacon of Hope Hospice for the compassionate care Bert and family received. A special thank you to Mary, Jessica, Whitley and Amanda.
