

Services will be Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10 am at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation is Friday, January 2, 2026, from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. His final resting place will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Princeton, IA. Memorials may go to the family.
Roger was born February 6, 1944, in Waukon, IA, the son of Albert and Marion (Dargis) Asleson. He grew up on a farm in Waterville, IA. He served in the US Army with the 313th Signal Corps in Bussac, France.
He was united in marriage to Romona “Mona” Gross on April 24, 1970, in Sterling, IL. She preceded him in death on July 17, 2023.
He worked as a press operator for Case New Holland for 30 years, retiring in 1999. Roger also worked for Benson Farms in rural Scott County for 13 years after retiring. He served as Treasurer for the Princeton Lions Club for 22 years and was a member of the American Legion and NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, playing cards and going to casinos to play slots. Roger was a social butterfly and never met a stranger.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Tammy (Brian) Stevens and their children, Tyler (Jennifer) Stevens and Brandon Stevens, all of Las Vegas Julia Nelson, Princeton, IA, and Allen (Laura) Asleson, and their children, Brett (Kelsey) Jessen and Dakota Asleson, all of Blue Grass; great grandchildren, Mila and Brayden Jessen, Blue Grass; brother, Eugene (Katie) Asleson, Moline and Dennis (Ann) Asleson, Grand Mound, IA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents and a brother William preceded him in death.
