Ronald was born January 10, 1942 to Clarence and Ella Stone in Cheyenne, WY. As soon as he was old enough to hold a wrench and a flashlight, Ronald was always found fixing engines. Ronald served in the Army from 1963 to 1966, and joined the reserves until 1969. Ronald worked as a Mill Operator for Alcoa, where he became a trusted employee and a reliable friend. In his free time, Ronald enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends, and working on lawnmowers in his shop, Stoney's Lawnmower & Small Engine Repair. He retired from Alcoa in 2002; following retirement, Ronald continued to search for new fishing spots with his family and explore Iowa's countryside.
With a caring heart and open arms, Ronald will be remembered for helping any neighbor, friend, or family in need. As a survivor of lung cancer, Ronald continues to inspire others to live each day to the fullest.
His loving memory will be kept alive by his adorning wife Maryjane Stone; brother Steven (Maria) Stone; children Ronald Andrew 'Andy' Stone, Harold Peavey, Jon Peavey, Nathan Dailey, Devlen Dailey-Gempis; and grandson Kelley Stone.
Preceded in death by his father Clarence Stone and mother Ella Stone; brothers Albert Jean 'AJ' Stone and Danny Lee Stone; and daughter Rhonda Stone; granddaughter Amanda Stone. The family would like to thank Freedom Christian Church for its undying support and tender care. In lieu of flowers, please consider a tribute donation to wife Maryjane Stone at 1230 West 6th Street Davenport, IA, 52802.
