Funeral services for Russell J. Thomas, 57, of Dixon, IA will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the mortuary. Mr. Thomas passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport. Russell James Thomas was born on July 29, 1956 in Manchester, IA, the son of James and Velma (Hogan) Thomas. On October 12, 1986, he married Linda Foster. Russell formerly worked as a grain hauler for Koberg Brothers in Walcott. He loved spending time with his grandson, Rylee, and also was a gun, motorcycle, and car enthusiast. He is survived by his Wife: Linda; his Mother: Velma; Children: Melissa, Lori, and Justin; Grandchildren: Rylee, Kayla, and Dillon; and Siblings: Debbra, Valerie, Nancy, Thomas, Robert, Leonard, and Donald. He was preceded in death by his father. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
