Ruth E. Thode

Ruth E. Thode, 94, of Davenport passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, July 13, 2015 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 1-4 pm Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Dogs for the Deaf. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Ruth married Wilson S. Sharp. He preceded her in death in 1944. She later married Kenneth Thode in 1951 in Davenport. She retired in 1987 from Hilltop TV sales and service.

Her memberships included St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Davenport Women of the Moose and Good Sam Sippi Sam Camping Group whose project was Dogs for the Deaf. She was a lifetime member of Larry M. Gronewold American Legion Auxiliary in Donahue.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Larry Forari; grandchildren and spouses: Tami Clark, Jeff and Rhonda Dittman, Trudi and Roy Steel, Greg and Kathy Forari and Brad and Angie Forari; eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
