Funeral services will be 1:00PM Wednesday May 16, 2012 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be 11:00AM until service time on Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. On line condolences may be offered at www.Rungemortuary.com.

Sam was born April 3, 1967 in Moline, IL. He was united in marriage to Amber Szegda on December 26, 2011. Sam had been employed for several years in the restaurant business, most recently working as an executive chef at the Captains’ Table in Moline the last three years. In his free time he loved to travel with his wife, go fishing, and spend time with his family & friends.

Survivors include: his wife Amber, Davenport; daughter, Samone Wires; sons: Ashdon Lightner (Keeyanna Armstrong) and Sam Wires Jr.; step children: Shebra Vesey & Demetrius McCaw; several nieces, nephews, & grandchildren; birth parents George Rankin & Willa Rankin Sanders; & several brothers & sisters.

Sam was preceded in death by a sister; his adopted parents Roger & Juanita Wires, granddaughter, Ashley Lightner.
