Sandra "Sandy" Reed

Sandra “Sandy” K. Reed, 58, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 after a valiant 27 year battle with breast cancer; at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Private services will be held at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Per her request, cremation rites will be accorded. Sandy was born September 3, 1956 in Hagerstown, Maryland, the daughter of Wilbert “Smitty” and Dorothy “Dot” Smith. She graduated from Wilson College in Chambersburg PA. She was a dedicated government employee for over 25 years. She was an avid quilter, loved to read and enjoyed researching family genealogy. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Pumpkin. She was a wonderful mother and “Nana” and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t have done for her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by her children: Lori (Steve) Elvert, Dixon, IA; Robert Reed and John Reed, both of Davenport; grandchildren: Grace, Reed, Rider and Remington and a brother, Dennis (Mary Lou) Rolls, Plumville, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Brian Smith.

The family would like to thank all of Sandy’s friends that have helped her over the past years for their wonderful care and friendship bestowed to her.
