Sandra "Sandy" L. Bartosh

She went peacefully surrounded by her family at the Genesis Hospital in Davenport, IA. She was born on February 1, 1950 to Edgar “Bud” Dunse and Marcella “Sally” Dunse in Heron Lake, MN.

Sandy attended kindergarten through seventh grade at St. Peter Lutheran School in Lakefield, MN, and later graduated from Doyle Beauty School in Fairmont, MN. She was married to Joseph “Joe” Bartosh on December 6, 1969. Sandy and Joe started out in Emmetsburg, IA, where she gave birth to both of her children. They moved to Knoxville, IL in 1980 and Oregon, IL in 1986. Finally settling in Eldridge, IA in 1992.

Sandy had many artistic endeavors throughout her life with cross-stitching, painting, card making, and jewelry making. She also greatly enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Joe of Eldridge, IA; daughter, Shawn Bartosh and son-in-law, Mike Trulock of Davenport, IA; son, Robert Bartosh and daughter-in-law, Martina Bartosh of Davenport, IA; sisters, Ruth (Glenn) Dicks of Lakefield, MN, and Donna Henderickson of Lakefield, MN; brother, Charles “Chuck” Dunse of Windom, MN; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Sally Dunse; her parents-in-law, Bernard “Bud” and Marcella “Sally” Bartosh; brother, James “Jim” Dunse; twin sister, Susan Clymer; and brothers-in-law, Ronald “Ron” Clymer and Randy Henderickson.

One organization that was dear to Sandy’s heart was the generosity of Toys for Tots to try and bring the wonder and joy of Christmas to children in low-income situations. She had volunteered time, money, and gifts to the organization for many years. For this reason, her family is asking donations be made to Toys for Tots in lieu of flowers or money.

The service for Sandy will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Runge Mortuary, 838 E. Kimberly Rd. Davenport, IA.
