Shirley was born April 26, 1939 in Pinewood, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Frank and Irene Barge.
She was a strong-headed woman who grew up in the backwoods hunting, and trapping for food and even would ski to get to her one-room schoolhouse. She owned and operated Shirl’s Cleaning Collection for numerous years before retiring. Shirley loved going to the casinos where she loved to pull the slots. She loved Country music and was gifted with the ability to play numerous instruments including: accordion, guitar, steel guitar, organ and the banjo, all while being self-taught. She was proud to be a member of the Country Music Association.
Known for her fun loving and joking style, people referred to her as “Squirrely Shirley.” Her greatest joy was spending time with her sons and especially her grandchildren. She was blessed to have a special relationship with each one and they will carry on her legacy proudly.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Robert C. (Annette) House, Jr, New Mexico, Daniel House, Davenport, and Kevin (Julie) House, Clinton; grandchildren, Dustin, Mackenzie, Noah, Jonelle, Brandon, Joseph, Rita, and Kim.
Her parents; sister, Janice Biddle; and brother, Gene Barge preceded her in death.
