Tama (Carroll) Lines was born on January 28, 1936 to Mary MacKenzie and John Sylvester in Davenport, IA. At a young age, she was adopted by John Carroll who was a most caring father. Tama graduated from Davenport High School in 1954. She joined Phillip Lines in married union at Newcomb Presbyterian Church on June 12, 1954. Together, they raised four children and spent 64 loving years together until Phillip passed in 2018.
Tama was a homemaker. Within that role, she was a cook, a painter, an embroiderer, PTA parent, Girl Scouts Leader, and so much more. She participated in many organizations, such as the Embroiders Guild, Mississippi River Chapter, Red Hats Club, and The Art Group at Bettendorf Family Museum. In her spare time, Tama enjoyed knitting and reading. She was especially fond of the romance novel genre.
Words could not accurately describe all the roles she filled and the impact she had on those who knew her. She will be so missed.
