A visitation will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Runge Mortuary 4pm to 6pm. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Third Missionary Baptist Church Davenport. There will be a one hour of visitation prior to the service at church. Burial will follow at Oakdale Memorial Garden Davenport. Terence was born to Gloria and John Eddie Hanes on March 21, 1970 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rock Island, IL. He joined Third Missionary Baptist Church at the tender age of 10 years old. Terence attended schools within the Rock Island/Milan School District, graduating in 1988 from Rock Island High School. After graduating, he went to Job Corps in Edinburgh, IN. Terence married Michelle Hunigan on October 4, 2014 in Davenport, Iowa.
Terence was employed at Liberty Packaging in Rock Island. “T-Bone”, as he was affectionately called, loved sports; especially basketball, soft ball, football and track. Terence was very loving and family oriented, even as a child. He had an outgoing personality and loved family activities, including road trips, and especially spending quiet time with his wife.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Michelle, parents, Gloria Young and John (Brenda) Hanes, Rock Island; children, Claudia Fuentes, Moline, IL, Terria Hanes, Jacksonville, FL, Senea Dillard, Dallas, TX, Terence Hanes Jr., Rock Island, IL, Terrasia (Terry) Eichwald, Oak Park, IL, Christopher Hanes-Correa, Colona, IL, Omar Hunigan Jr., Davenport, IA and ShaRee (Brooks) Swanson, Columbia, SC; siblings, Melinda Hanes-Williams, Ankeny, IA, Debbie and Vivian Hanes, both of Davenport, IA; brother’s Keith Hanes, Rock Island, IL, Darren Hanes and John Hanes Jr. both of Davenport, IA, 7 grandchildren; mother-in-law Donna Fitch, East Moline, IL; grandmother’s Esther Rasso, East Moline, IL, Maudella Hal, Kansas City, MO; uncle Robert Hanes, Waterloo, IA and a host of additional family and friends who so dearly loved him.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
