Tom was born on October 24, 1946, in Moline, Illinois to Frances and Leroy “Guy” Brown. Tom enjoyed academic and athletic success at Alleman Catholic High School in Rock Island, Illinois. He was a multi-sport athlete who qualified for the state wrestling tournament, which led him to wrestle at Iowa State University. He later graduated from St. Ambrose University with a business degree. Tom had a passion for motor sports and he competed as an amateur and professional for both car and boat racing. Tom worked in the metal industry as Vice President & General Manager of Alcoa and later as the CEO of Republic Foil in Connecticut.
On June 17, 1972, he was united in marriage to Karen Brown. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage. He was a hardworking and intelligent businessman that focused on providing for his devoted wife and family. Tom enjoyed the great outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a love of woodworking and spent his time building furniture, toy chests, and carving ornaments for his family to enjoy.
Tom is now reunited in heaven with his wife Karen, who precedes him in death, along with his mother Frances, and father LeRoy. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Kevin (Lisa) Brown, Tom Brown; grandchildren, Tyler, Saraya, Tristan, Audra, Brooklyn, Brady, Reece, Sage; and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Eli.
