

There will be a visitation on Friday, May 23rd at The Runge Mortuary from 5-7pm. A procession will leave from Runge Mortuary at 10:00 am Saturday, May 24th to graveside services at his final resting place in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery in the All Vets Memorial.
Tom was born on April 23, 1941, in Asheville, North Carolina to Walston and Ida Helena Taylor. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1959. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Navy in 1961. After his military service, he went on to work as a machine operator for John Deere until his retirement.
He loved traveling in the United States, especially after his retirement. His favorite places to stay were in Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea, in California. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Trena, and his son, Thomas, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Ginny and Loretta.
Dad, “I want to hold you in my arms and whisper “don’t be scared”. Take you away, just you and ,I to all the places you loved. Maybe, if we go far enough, Alzheimer’s won’t find you. I’d keep you safe."
