Vernon Frederick Thobe Jr.

Vernon F. Thobe Jr., 86, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Vern was born on December 13, 1938 in Davenport to Vernon and Mildred (Ehmsen) Thobe. He was united in marriage to Sharon Dimmick on March 19, 1960 in Davenport. He worked for NCR as a regional zone manager, retiring in 1994.

Vern loved traveling across the country with Sharon in their RV, and together they made many memorable trips to Alaska. In his 40’s, Vern wanted to learn new talents; alongside his children, he learned to downhill ski, pilot a plane, and scuba dive. Vern also enjoyed trying new restaurants.

Vern is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sharon; children, Deborah Thobe Ebner, Jeffrey (Kathy) Thobe, Carolyn (Scott) Nuteson; grandchildren, Kayla Ebner, Cameron (Kristi) Ebner, Joshua (Melissa) Nuteson, Cassandra (Scott) Holmquist, Devon (Kelsey) Nuteson, Samantha (Sundiata) Morris; great-grandchildren, Skyler Nuteson, Landon Nuteson, Emery Holmquist, Colton Ebner, and arriving soon, Beckett Holmquist; brothers, James (Kathy) Thobe and Richard (Karen) Thobe.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
