William D. Carr, 81, of Davenport Iowa passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Per Bill’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 1 pm at the All Vets section at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Folks that would like to take part in the procession to the cemetery are invited to gather at the Runge Mortuary at 12:30 PM. Memorials may be made in Bill’s name to King’s Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter.
Bill served his country in the United States Navy and was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sharon; children, Tamara Beaty, John Carr; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Mike (Karen) Carr; sisters, Nancy Adlfinger, MaryAnn (Mike) Puente and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pat Carr; sister, Sara Ihrig; brother-in-law, Frank Adlfinger and his beloved black lab, Billie Jean.
