William J. Connolly

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, January 18, 2025 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. until service time. He will be laid to rest in MT. Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, IA.

William was born January 8, 1940 in Dubuque, Iowa, to Sylvester and Bernadette Connolly. He graduated from Loras Academy in 1958. He was united in marriage to Judith Cullen February 11, 1961 in Dubuque.

Bill was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local #91. He worked at Giese Sheet Metal in Dubuque for thirty years and later retired from Shebler Heating and Air after ten years of service.

Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His favorite place to be was on the water or in the woods. Bill enjoyed spending time at his cabin near Bellevue, Iowa whenever possible.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Sara) Connolly, Lisa Sabatka, and Jeff Connolly; sixteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; siblings, Maggie and Sylvester.

Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife Judy, daughter Shelly, granddaughter Brooke, and siblings Aggie, Mary, Janice, and Gary.
