

Was born on October 7, 1918 to Edward and Lena Geissler. He grew up in Odessa and attended school there. He entered the US Navy in 1942 and served for over 25 years being discharged as a Commander in the US Navy. Wayne farmed a little and drove truck for Huck’s transfer for many years. Wayne passed away August 11, 2013 at his home. He is survived by four children Dianne (Dale) Cresap, Yvonne (Gary) Eyler, Robert Geissler and Jaunita (Carl) Schluneger, along with nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. His brother Echo (Ellen) Geissler and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 1962, two sons Paul in 1963 and Leonard in 1984 and two infant boys 1954 & 1958 and sister and brother in law Wardine & Harold Hokanson. He was an Odessa High School graduate and Valedictorian and a Gonzaga Graduate. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and Korea and a Purple Heart recipient and a V.F.W. member. He loved to hunt and fish, former Davenport School board member and past chairman, Lifetime member NRA, member of the Davenport Gun Club & Safety Instructor, Wild Turkey Federation, Black powder shooters & Rendezvous and raised Peacocks for over 50 years. His family was the most important thing to him. Funeral Services, Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church, 1007 Washington St., Davenport, WA.
