William Frederick Strite

Passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025 in Spokane, WA. Bill was born on May 1, 1933 in Powell, WY to Joseph and Maude Strite. Bill grew up in the Powell and Cody Wyoming area and later moved to St. Maries, Idaho where he graduated high school. He then married Carol Beebe Howell on August 8, 1954 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They returned to Ralston, Wyoming where Bill worked for Garland Light and Power and were blessed with four rambunctious boys. Bill, Bee and their family moved to Davenport in 1968, where Bill worked for Lincoln Electric Co-op, now Inland Power and Light. Bill worked as a journeyman lineman for over 25 years retiring in 1996. Bill was a member of the I.B.E.W. Union #77.

After retirement, Bill and Bee enjoyed traveling, antiquing, and visiting with family and friends. Bill loved doing woodworking projects and helping his sons with various renovations over the years. He lovingly built upholstered rocking chairs and matching ottomans for every grandchild, what keepsakes they are!

Bill is survived by his four sons, Bill (Becky) Strite, Colville; Steve (Tammy), Chewelah; Lorne Strite, Davenport; and Mike (Tania) Strite of Davenport. Bill and Bee were very proud of their ten grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed seeing them often. Bill is also survived by his sister, Wilma Brosious of Powell, Wyoming and his brother, Jim (Annie) Strite of Winchester, Tennessee. Bill also has numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol (Bee) Strite in 2018, his sister Rosella Rick, and daughter in law, Theresa Strite.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Strate Funeral Home, 505 10th St. Davenport, WA 99122.
