

Brian Alexander Carpenter, 70, an 11 year resident of Edgewater and previously of Gambrills, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 after a 5 year battle with a neurological disorder. Brian was born in Wilmington, DE on May 4, 1946 to the late Robert F. and Alice Carpenter, Jr. He was a graduate of Bladensburg High School and the University of Maryland. He worked for the Department of Defense for over 30 years. Brian loved the water and immensely enjoyed fishing on his boat.
Brian is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cheryl Denise Carpenter; three daughters Stephanie A. (Kevin) Vaughn of Gambrills, Shannon M. (Glenn) Smith of Gambrills, and Meredith L. (Brett) Bujac of Crofton; a brother, Robert F. (JoAnn) Carpenter of Seaford, DE; and Papa to his eight grandchildren, Carter, Natalie, Emma, Charlotte, Landon, Morgan, Wyatt and Piper.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Brian's life on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD, and on Saturday from 10 AM until his funeral service begins at 11 AM at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 4 Wallace Manor Rd., Edgewater, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association, 22100 Gratiot Ave., Eastpoint, MI 48021.
