Elizabeth Cary (Black) Smith, 77, passed away, at home in Goldsboro, NC, on Monday, December 18, 2017. Mrs. Smith was born in Baltimore, MD on December 4, 1940, to the late Bryan Black, Jr. and Ruth Bowen Black. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Smith. Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Turner McFarland and husband, Martin L. McFarland, of Roswell, GA, and Brenda Lee Harper and husband, George L. Harper, of Goldsboro, NC; one sister, Margaret Kingsley (Black) Moore and husband, Garland Payne "Bo" Moore of Lutherville, MD; and her triplet grandchildren, Katherine V. McFarland, Alastair C. McFarland, and Samuel I. McFarland. A memorial service has been planned for February 16, 2018, at 11am, at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
