

Ross was born in New York City, New York to Anna Stevenson McInnes on January 13, 1958. He grew up in the US Virgin Islands and graduated from Sanford Naval Academy at the age of 16.
Ross proudly joined the United States Navy, during the Vietnam War and became part of the US Navy Submarine Service. He served as an Electronics Technician aboard the USS Mariano G. Vallejo and the USS Canopus Submarine tender.
On September 21, 1990, he married his wife Sherry McInnes in North Miami, FL.
For many years Ross worked as a Senior Electronics’ Technician for ADT and spent the last 15 years of his career with Siemens Building Technologies before retiring.
Ross was dedicated to his family and loved being involved in any and all activities his children were involved in. He loved being Coach Ross to a variety of his children’s sports teams. He made a lasting impact on and off the field for the kids he coached.
Ross loved to sing and play guitar. As a young man he loved to play in cover bands.
As a family man, Ross continued to use his love for music by using his beautiful tenor voice in the church choir and church quartet. He also loved spending time with friends playing guitar.
He was an animal advocate and never could say no to taking in an animal who needed a home.
Ross is preceded in death by his sister, Lisa “Siobhan” Allen, his daughter, Kelly Ann McInnes, and his mother, Anna “Ann” VanEyten.
Ross is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Sherry, daughter, Erin Crane (Kevin), daughter, Lauren McInnes, and son, Joshua McInnes. He loved his family deeply and is also survived by his stepfather, Stephen VanEyten and mother-in-law, Ruth Maddox. He adored his grandchildren, Abigail and Nathaniel Crane. He is survived by his nieces, Mariah Maddox, Kayla Cordon, Ana and Elena Allen, and nephew Jordan Soto, whom he loved and cared for immensely. He also loved his honorary daughter Katrina Garner, her husband, Rocky, and their son, Ethan.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 10AM, Saturday, January 11, 2025 at New Life Baptist Church, Davie, Florida. Arrangements are by Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home, in Davie, Florida.
