

George was born in Valley Stream, NY to George K. Caffrey Jr. and Laura Caffrey (Reisert) on 12/4/1937. He went to school at Valley Stream High School. He married his one true love, Marie (Pagano) on October 12, 1958, in Franklin Square, LI, NY and blessed with a union lasting more than 66 years. He worked as a business owner Exotic Fish of Long Island, for 20 years. He was a veteran and served in the Army and Air Force and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. He was involved in The Knights Of Columbus (4th Degree Member), the Elks Club ( Chaplain and 2012-2013 Citizen Of The Year), Broward County Community Emergency Response Team, Eucharistic Minister for St. David Catholic Church, Davie, FL, Volunteer at Sandy Ninninger Veterans Home, and organized and participated in several Honor Flights for US military veterans to Washington, DC.
George (also known as “Bud”), is survived by his loving wife Marie, his sons George Jr., Kevin, daughter-in-law Janice, daughter Doreen, sister Patty, grandchildren Krista, Christopher, Nicholas, Patrick, and Casey, and great-Grandchildren Hazel and Lucy.
Visitation will be from 5PM to 8PM, Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Fred Hunter Funeral Home, 6301 Taft St., Hollywood, FL.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 Wednesday, June 4,2025 at St. David Catholic Church, 3900 University Dr., Davie, FL. Burial to follow at 2PM, at Fred Hunter Memorial Gardens, 6301 Taft St, Hollywood, FL. Arrangements are by Fred Hunter Funeral Home.
