Mrs. Maria Curet

Maria Curet, 98, of Sunrise, Florida, passed away on February 15th, 2026, in Sunrise. Maria was born in the Dominican Republic to Joseph Abud and Nayibe on October 20th,1927. She went to school at San Pedro. She married Armando Curet Helel on June 8th, 1946, in the Dominican Republic. She graduated from Colegio Cristo. She worked as a data entry clerk for Standard Motors in NYC for 25+ years, but mostly, she enjoyed being a homemaker who put her family first.

She was involved in local hospital volunteering with her husband during their retirement. She was an avid church attendee. Her love and care of family were her primary joy in life.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Armando Curet, daughter Yvonne Curet Marcano, daughter-in-law Wendy Curet, siblings, Julio Serralles, Antonio Serralles, and Ana Maria Serralles.

Maria is survived by: daughter Maria H. Curet, son Joseph Curet, daughter Mercedes Iocco and spouse Joseph Iocco, and son-in-law Luis Marcano. 6 Grandchildren, Lisette, Adina, Luis, Amanda, Christine, and Christopher. 10 great grandchildren, Abigail, Isabella, Nathan, Johnny, Tatiana, Matthew, Madeline, Mikayla, Donald 3rd, Nolan, and another on the way.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held 9-11 a.m. Monday, February 23rd at Fred Hunter's, 2401 S. University Drive, Davie, Florida, 33322, followed by burial at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery at 12 p.m. Arrangements are by Fred Hunter's.

The family of Maria wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the caring nurses in the hospital and hospice who attended to her with care.
