Thomas “Big Kat” Williams, 66, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026 surrounded by his family. Born on September 14, 1959, Tom was a lifelong resident of South Florida who lived a life defined by strength, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
He began working at just six years old, sparking a passion for building and design that would shape the course of his life. As a highly respected general contractor, Tom was known for his integrity, unmatched work ethic, and commitment to excellence.
Beyond his work, Tom cherished the game of golf at his beloved Fort Lauderdale Country Club where he served as Club president and a member of the board. He was a devoted fan of the Florida State Seminoles, proudly maintaining season tickets for many years and sharing countless game days with family and friends.
A devout Catholic, Tom’s faith guided the way he lived with kindness, humility, and a deep love for others. He generously volunteered as an usher, greeting parishioners and serving his church community at Saint David’s Catholic Parish for over 20 years.
Above all, Tom was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Frances; his daughters, Marie (John) Blades, Melissa (Michael) Sheets, and Meagan (Steven) Kastner; and his cherished grandchildren, John, Ryleigh, Colton, Letty, Maliya, and Griffin. He is also survived by his sisters, Lori, Lynn, and Shelley.
Tom lived life fully and unapologetically. He told the best stories, laughed the loudest, worked tirelessly, and loved with his whole heart. He built more than homes, restaurants, and buildings — he built a legacy of love, faith, loyalty, and unforgettable memories for those fortunate enough to know him.
His legacy lives on in the family he adored, the friends who will forever tell his stories, and the countless lives he touched along the way.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on March 20th at 10:00am. We invite all who knew and loved Tom to join us in honoring his memory. Please wear your best Garnet and Gold attire (optional)… And as always, Go Noles!
