It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Annie Hampton Ramsey on July 11, 2025, age 101, formally of Staunton, Virginia. Her journey through this world was marked by moments of beautifully crocheted and knit crafts, great southern cooking, and a steadfast devotion to family and friends. Born into a family that valued togetherness she carried this lesson throughout her long and satisfying life.
Annie was born on December 29, 1923, to Maggie Fay (Johnson) and Walter Dixie Hampton in Independence, Virginia. Her early years taught her the value of family, education, and the love of nature. During her retirement years she enjoyed running an antique business with her husband, Coy.
