Anthony (Tony) Frank Ortel age 79, of Centerville, Ohio, unexpectedly passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of Monday, June 24, 2024 at his residence. Tony was born the second son of Joseph Sr. and Charlotte (Gentile) Ortel on November 1, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio. Tony was preceded in death by his dad Joseph Sr., his mom Charlotte; brother Tom and niece Therese.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Debbie and their son Greg and his wife Nikki; three grandchildren, Alex, Ashley and Andrew Ortel; brothers Joe (Patty) Ortel Jr., David (Jennifer) Ortel Sr.; sister, Christy Jo (Sherman) Ortel-Long; sisters-in-law, Barb Ortel and Patricia Wakeley. Tony is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Tony was a 1962 graduate of Belmont High School. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Kettering Fire Division from 1968 to 1993 where he retired with the rank of Lieutenant. Tony also worked for many years with Brinks Security and finished his working career at NCR as a security guard from which he retired.
Tony was a true diehard fan of the Cleveland Browns Football Team and was a member of the Browns Backers of Dayton, Ohio.

Friends may call at the Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45429 on Monday, July 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
