Ardella Bell, 92, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019. A long time Dayton, OH resident, Ardella was born April 7, 1927 in Germantown, Kentucky to Albert and Catherine Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Catherine Bell; siblings, Ethel Smith, Jean Haws, Albert Bell, Mary Schmalstig, Joseph Bell, and Harry Bell. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Ardella graduated from Kiser High School. After high school she worked as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell and in 1953 she went to work at Reynolds & Reynolds and retired from there October 1, 1987 from the Telecommunications Department.Besides spending time with her family and friends, Ardella was an avid bowler in her younger days and enjoyed watching and playing golf and tennis. She loved traveling and shopping and in her later years she enjoyed infomercial shopping and watching Hallmark movies or the weather channel. She was the 1st woman in Dayton, bowling at McCook Lanes on Keowee St. to shoot a 290 game! She threw a #16, hard rubber ball (all they had in those days) with speed right from the corner!!!! Hard and straight!!! A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 14 th , at Tobias Funeral Home, 648 Watervliet Ave. Dayton, Ohio at 10:00 am with cremains be interred at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 170 N. Valley Rd, Xenia, Ohio following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations, may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
