Arminta "Mint" Johnson, age 98 of Beavercreek, made her transition from this life to her eternal life on Friday, March 7, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby and Clara (Oaks) Robinson; her husband of 65 years, Arthur Johnson Jr., as well as all 8 of her brothers and sisters. Oh, what a family reunion they are having!
She is survived by her daughter, Rae Phelps; son, Keith (Robbin) Johnson; brother-in-law Glenn (Mary) Johnson, and sister-in-law Mary Yost; grandchildren: Emily, Mark, Marissa, Gina, Megan, and Skye; great-grandchildren: Austin, Makayla, David, Joshua, Emma, Hailee, Jaden, Jaxson, Amelia, Owen, Johnathan, Quinn, and Aela; great-great grandchildren: Cameron, Iyla, Isaiah, and Levi, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mint began her working career at the coal mine commissary in Allock, KY. Once she graduated high school, she went to work at a bomber factory in Ann Arbor, MI. Our mother was Rosie the Riveter! Once the war effort was over, she moved back to Allock and met her husband, Ott.
She was a stay-at-home mother for most of her children's childhood, going back to work once they were in high school. She worked for General Motors, first at Delco Products in Kettering, then Frigidaire in downtown Dayton, and ended her career at Truck and Bus in Moraine.
She was the very best mother we could have ever asked for. Her extraordinary ability to help others began at a very early age and continued throughout her entire life. Her nurturing spirit and boundless love for her family will live on in the hearts of each one of us.
Funeral services will begin at 11 am on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends at the funeral home at 10am until the time of the service.
