
DeVOE-TRENT, Betty J., of Kettering, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center. Betty was born in Jamestown, Ohio to the late Marlin R. and Bernice E. (Jones) Heinz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger L. DeVoe and a step-son, David Trent. She is survived by her children, Daniel (Michèle) DeVoe of Cleves, Ohio, Trent DeVoe of Kettering and Wendy (Glenn) Brunner of Dublin, Ohio; seven grandchildren; two great granddaughters; a sister Marilyn “Jeanne” (Ray) Keifer of Kettering; and her second husband David E. Trent. Betty received her Bachelors of Education from Wilmington College and her Masters from the University of Dayton. She taught 1st grade for 44 years, the majority of them in the Kettering School System. Betty was a member of Christ United Methodist Church since 1971 and a member of the Wilmington College Alumni Association. She was active in the arts, an avid reader and her life was surrounded by family, friends and teaching.
