Bobby Joseph Foster

FOSTER, Bobby (Bob) J, age 92, of Centerville , OH , died Friday, May 17, 2013, in Ft. Myers , FL. Bob was born September 3, 1920, in Arcanum, OH, Darke County Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents Hamilton Jesse Foster and Bonnie Marie McGriff Foster; his sister Hannah Elizabeth Foster Dowling and two brothers McGriff (Mac) Foster and Charles Vernon Foster. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Virginia (Ginny) Catherine Lee Foster, whom he married on July 3, 1942; his son, Michael Robert Foster, two grandchildren, Lauren Marie Foster, John Michael Foster and their mother, Merrilee Boggs Foster, all of Doylestown , PA. Bob graduated from Patterson Co-op in 1939 and also attended engineering classes at the University of Dayton. He liked all sports especially the games of golf, tennis, and baseball. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a 1st Class Seaman, serving aboard a PGM13 small gun boat. During his tour of duty he was able to visit Japan . He retired in 1982 from the Monsanto Research Cooperation “Mound Lab” with 20 years of service. Bob was an original member of St. Henry Catholic Church.
