Carol Jean Burgeson

BURGESON, Carol J. age 71 of Washington Township, Ohio passed away July 4th, 2014. Carol grew up in Peterson Iowa and graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1961. She married her high school sweetheart, in 1963 and worked in banking while her husband finished college. They had 3 children and spent 5 years in Cedar Rapids, IA before moving to Ohio in 1972 where they have lived ever since. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed attending all sporting events of her children and grandchildren, watching the birds in her backyard, college basketball, and the Cincinnati Reds. She was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Amis, father Ralph Amis, and sister Dee Lewis. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Norman Burgeson, mother Charlotte Amis of Spencer, IA, brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Shirley Amis of Spencer, IA, daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Andrew Extine of Chandler, AZ, daughter and son-in-law Kelly and Chris Roth of Dayton, OH, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Tracy Burgeson of Powell, OH, 6 grandchildren Travis, Zachary, Benjamin, Genevieve, Kyle, and Kaden. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. Dayton, Ohio from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service 11 am Wednesday at the funeral home.
