GABBARD, Clarence VanDyke, age 65 of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. He has joined his parents and brother in the afterlife. He is survived by his son Jacob Gabbard, daughters Cazzie Osborne, Elizabeth (Drew) Shanefield and Sarah (Mick) Bereczky, 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 3 siblings, and numerous other relatives and friends. Clarence served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of solar lodge #730 F&AM, past High Priest of Mt. Moriah Chapter #230 RAM and Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. Clarence was a retired City of Springfield Police Officer and a member of FOP. Clarence was a member of Temple Sholom. He had played football at the University of Louisville and was a referee, coach and mentor in the Springfield area. He was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, with a passion for music, a love of animals, and had an inquisitive mind. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Tobias Funeral Home – Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave. with Rabbi Cary Kozberg officiating. Interment will follow at Mt.
