Clifton Douglas Fair

Fair, Clifton Douglas "Doug", age 88, of Beavercreek, OH, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born in Sharpsburg, Kentucky on September 19, 1924 to Robert H. and Ada Lee (Jewell) Fair, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene, a son, Johnny Bob and a brother, Curtis Fair. Doug is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Sigrun A. Fair, of Beavercreek; a daughter, Brigitte Boyd, of Akron, OH; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Linda Fair, of Elizabethtown, KY; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Ruth Fair, of Beavercreek, a sister-in-law, Betty Fair, of Dayton; two grandchildren, Christopher and wife, Sarah George, of Akron, OH, Jessica Fair, of Glendale, KY; three great grandchildren, Logan, Landen and Halli and numerous other relatives and friends. He served his country for 23 years and was proud of it. Clifton served in the United States Army during WW II, Korean and Vietnam wars, receiving many citations together with the Purple Heart (Vietnam) and retired having attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. Cliff also retired from Harrison Radiator in Moraine City following 20 years of service. He was a member of Beaver Valley Lodge # 753 F.& A.M., a 32nd Degree Mason with the Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton, Antioch Temple Shrine and V.F.W. Post 9927 in Kettering, OH. He had a zest for life and will be deeply missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grangehall Road. Interment with full military honors will follow at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2012.
