Colonel Robert P. Lavoie (ret.)

LAVOIE, Robert P., Colonel USAF (ret.), of Washington Twp., departed this life Monday, January 6, 2014 at Miami Valley Hospital. Beloved husband, father and grandpa, he was a proud 28 year veteran of the United States Air Force. He earned the legion of Merit, The Distinguished Flying Cross and Meritorious Service Medal among many of his honors. In his retirement, he enjoyed travel and wonderful, laughing times with his family. Robert was born on January 22, 1934 in Hartford, Connecticut to Paul and Laurette Martel Lavoie. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jeanne M. Gleeson Lavoie; four sons, Steve (Laurie) of Houston TX, Dennis (Kim) of Kettering OH, Tim and Kevin (Donna) of Centerville OH; seven grandchildren; and a great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Normand Lavoie of Bristol CT. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45429.
