

PLACKE, Dale L. 87, of Dayton, OH, passed away, Thursday, January 14, 2016, following a lingering illness for the past six and a half years. Dale was born, April 24, 1928. He was a graduate of Kettering Fairmont High School, a US Army Veteran serving in the Korea War, and was awarded a Mechanical Engineer Degree in June of 1951, from the University of Cincinnati. Dale was employed for over 3 decades at National Cash Register and Awarded patents, 14 times on various items. He was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church over 50 years. Dale’s favorite pastime was gardening, growing fruits, vegetables and flowers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Edith Placke and wife, of 62 years, Virginia (Kemper) Placke. Dale is survived by three children, Scott R. Placke, Daughter Ginger (Placke) McGregor (Roger), Son David (Becky) Placke; four grandsons, Ryan McGregor, Tyler Baird, Daniel Placke, and Nathan Placke; one Great Granddaughter, Zuri Placke and special friend of the family, Julie Baird. The family will receive friends at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 6430 Far Hills Ave, Centerville, OH 45459, from 9:30 am, Saturday, January 23, 2016, until time of service at 10:30am.
