HUHTALA, Daryl W., 72, passed away on May 1, 2023. He was born February 22, 1951 to the late William and Dorothy Huhtala. Daryl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He retired from ABX Air where he worked as an expert aircraft mechanic for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, dogs, and friends. He was an avid collector and builder of model cars and airplanes and met many dear friends at model shows. Daryl was an amazing grandfather and was thrilled to learn of a second grandchild was on the way prior to his passing. He is survived by his two sons, Brian D. Huhtala (Emily Power-Huhtala) and Paul W. Huhtala (Amy Jeffers), his sisters Carole Schneider, Dawn Huhtala, and Lisa Zielinski, and his granddaughter Bonnie. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years Nancy, his brother Mark, infant brother Dale, and his parents William and Dorothy. Daryl’s family invites all who know and loved him to join in a memorial at Wilmington United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 8 at 1:00pm with a luncheon immediately following the service in the lower level of the church to celebrate Daryl.
