Dennis "Denny" Slyder

Slyder, Dennis R., ”Denny”, age 59 of Kettering, passed away March 16, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson and Mary Ann Slyder. He is survived by a daughter, Monica Meyer and husband Brett of Troy and son Dennis and wife Sarah Stewart of MO. He is also survived by three sisters: Pam (Grover) Cleveland of Beavercreek and Sandy (Robbie) Spurr of West Carrollton and Candice (Randy) Honaker of Centerville and two brothers: Ralph (Donna) of Westlake and Jim (Paula) of Beavercreek. He is also survived by one niece, numerous nephews and several great nieces and great nephews and many cousins. Denny was a graduate of Carroll High School in 1972 and is a veteran of the US Navy, having served on the USS Roosevelt from 1972-1975. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Thursday evening, March 21 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Funeral service will be held at 7 PM Thursday evening with Pastor Dan Mullins officiating. Interment will be in the Dayton National Cemetery, 4100 W. Third St. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420 in Denny’s memory. Very special thanks go to Dr. Sherry Wheaton, Denny’s nurses and all of the crisis care nurses/angels who cared for him. Denny was a kind, loving and generous brother who will be missed and is now gone home to be with the Lord.
