Diane Stringer, nee des Islets, aged 80, of Beavercreek died on Sunday, July 13, 2014 after a courageous battle with heart and renal failure. She is survived by her sister Nona and husband Oscar Butt of Paradise Valley, AZ; her three sons, David L. and wife Diane (Pearce) of Cleveland, OH, William R. of San Pedro, CA, and John F. of Beavercreek, OH; and her two daughters Debra of Beavercreek and Suzanne and her husband Fielden Lundy of Long Beach, CA; and four grandchildren, Katherine, Laura, and James Stringer and Cameron Lundy.
Diane was born in Bryn Mawr, PA on October 4, 1933. She lived in England, Okinawa, Guam, Japan, and across the United States. She married William L. Stringer, in London, in 1952. She was president of the Wright-Patterson OWC from 1976-1977.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband William; her parents, John and Nona des Islets; and her two brothers Jack and Charles.
Visitation will be at Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek, from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Hospice of Dayton. A funeral mass will be held at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Beavercreek, on July 18, 2014 at 10 AM. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on a date to be determined.
