

DUNN, Donald E., age 86 of Beavercreek, OH, US Navy WWII veteran, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley and parents McKinley and O. Fay Dunn. Donald is survived by his children David Dunn (Tonya), Patti Quilling (Michael) of Oak Park, IL; and Roger Dunn of Roy, UT; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Don owned and operated Don’s Hairdressers in Oakwood until his retirement in 1990. He was an active officer in the U.S. Faceters Guild, member of the Midwest Faceters Guild, and an instructor at Riverbend Arts Center, sharing his love and knowledge of faceting gemstones. He achieved the status of Master Gemcutter and competed in many international competitions, placing high among his fellow gemcutters. Don also enjoyed square dancing, traveling, bowling, and being a member of the Beavercreek Seniors Center. Memorial services will be 3:30 PM Saturday, November 10, 2012 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall. His family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home Saturday. Contributions in Donald's memory may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
