WINTERBOTHAM, Edward J. (Easy) passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 after a short battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jane, in August, 2001. He is survived by his sons, David, John and wife Kathleen, and Michael and wife Cathy; grandson, Shane and wife Lynn; 2 great-grandchildren, Allison and Gretchen and several nieces and nephews. Ed attended Wilbur Wright and graduated from Patterson Coop in Dayton. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the European Theatre. Ed spent his career as a tool and die maker when tool and die making were big in Dayton. He worked for the Vulcan Tool Company for 46 years and had the opportunity to work many large and small jobs. He would tell you he was never late with a job and never had to redo a job. Ed was a past master of Beaver Valley Lodge #753 F & AM in 1963 and recently received recognition for 60 years of service to the Masons. He enjoyed fishing, going to the races and playing a good game of euchre. Dad would want it mentioned the time he enjoyed with his friends at Wedig’s Tavern, especially Brenda, a dear friend first and our family’s favorite bar maid for over 38 years. Sunday morning dog walks will not be the same. At Ed’s request, there will only be graveside services, which will be held 10:00 AM Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Dayton National Cemetery, VAMC, 4100 W. Third Street. Arrangements are entrusted to TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL. Condolences may be expressed to his family at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
