Ellen Elaine Vaughn

Vaughn, Ellen Elaine, age 83, a long time resident of Beavercreek and Florida, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017, in Toledo, Ohio. She was born in Akron, Ohio on May 31, 1934, the daughter of Paul and Bertha (Zimmerman) Snyder, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Vaughn, her brother, Larry Snyder and two half sisters, Betty and Lois. Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Beecher W. Vaughn, of Waterville; her two children, Gail and husband, Terry Sanner, of Dayton, OH, Glen and wife, Chandra Vaughn, of Maumee, OH; 8 brothers and sisters, Tom (Helen) Snyder, Dave (Diane) Snyder, Jack (Eleanor) Snyder, Janet Renner, Bill (Carolyn) Snyder, Becky Cartwright, Ruth Kennedy, Mike Snyder; 7 grandchildren, Anthony (Elizabeth) Warlick, Russell (Jaime) Warlick, Melissa Irvin, Kathryn (Jason) Heitman, Adam, Courtney and Jacob Vaughn; 10 great grandchildren, Joseph, Johnathan and Jayne Elizabeth Warlick, Etta, Samuel and Whitcomb Greathouse, Hannah Gibbs, Alexia and Jordyn Irvin and Kynzie Heitman. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Ellen was a member of Kirkmont Presbyterian Church, The Red Hat Society, NCT Camping Club and retired from the Beavercreek School System as manager of the Fairbrook Elementary School cafeteria. She was actively involved in The Order of the Eastern Star, since joining in 1975, having served as Worthy Matron of Beaver Valley Chapter #570 in 1996 and 1999 and was the Deputy Grand Matron for District #18 in 2003. Ellen was also a 20 year member of The Daughters of the Nile, Aziza Temple. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road with her grandson, Reverend Anthony Warlick officiating. Final resting place will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017 with Order of the Eastern Star Services to be held at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Ohio Eastern Star Home, 1451 Gambier Road, Mt.
